French film releases scheduled for October 7, 2026

Several films are scheduled for release on October 7, 2026, including the comedy ‘La Maison de nos rêves’, directed by Claude Zidi Jr. and starring Kev Adams and Chantal Ladesou. The plot follows a young couple who purchase a house via a ‘viager’ contract, only to find that the elderly seller recovers her health and turns their real estate dream into a nightmare.

Other releases include ‘Ducobu et le fantôme de Saint-Potache’, a family comedy directed by Elie Semoun; ‘Ni vue, ni connue’, starring Isabelle Huppert and Sandrine Kiberlain; ‘Fausse note’, a drama featuring Kad Merad and Benoît Poelvoorde; and ‘The Social Reckoning’, an Aaron Sorkin drama inspired by the true story of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen.

Critical reception for ‘La Maison de nos rêves’ has been negative, with some reviews describing the film as a ‘navrante’ (pitiful) comedy that lacks stakes and relies on repetitive character dynamics.
