French firefighters mark milestones with anniversary and retirement

The Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier fire station is preparing to celebrate its 170th anniversary with a public event on September 26, 2026. The festivities at Espace Bel Air will include a meal, music by the Black Eagles orchestra, a fireworks display, and a free traditional dance hosted by the LNA orchestra.

In separate news regarding the fire service in Seine-Maritime, Jean-Bernard Boclet is retiring after 50 years of service. Having joined the Aumale station in January 1977, Boclet served as the center chief and witnessed decades of evolution in firefighting equipment and mission types, ranging from early fire interventions to modern emergency medical assistance.
