AS Monaco hosts RC Lens in Ligue 1 clash

AS Monaco is set to host RC Lens at Stade Louis II for a Ligue 1 fifth-round match on Friday, September 18, 2026. Monaco, managed by Filipe Luís, currently sits second in the league with 10 points, remaining unbeaten in their last four matches. A victory could see them reclaim the top spot from Lille.

RC Lens enters the match in 10th place with four points. The club recently underwent coaching changes following the departure of Dino Toppmöller, with Yannick Cahuzac taking charge on an interim basis. Lens has struggled defensively this season, conceding multiple goals in each of their competitive matches.

In recent news, the French Football Federation (FFF) acknowledged an officiating error during Monaco’s previous match against Strasbourg. The refereeing direction confirmed that a penalty should have been awarded to Monaco in the final minutes of the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
