French Health Minister visits Montceau-les-Mines for France Santé labeling
French Minister of Health Stéphanie Rist visited the Maison de Santé Pluridisciplinaire Esculape in Montceau-les-Mines to celebrate its receipt of the ‘France Santé’ label. This certification is part of a broader initiative to strengthen local access to healthcare. The facility currently employs 30 professionals and treats between 300 and 350 patients daily.
During the visit, Minister Rist addressed the Asalée program, which utilizes over 2,000 advanced practice nurses working alongside 9,000 doctors to manage chronic diseases and prevention, particularly in underserved areas. While an IGAS report acknowledged the program's clinical relevance for chronic patients, it raised concerns regarding governance, including financial failures, conflicts of interest, and administrative irregularities. In response, the State has confirmed its support for nurses through the CNAM, pledged to maintain salaries until at least May 2027, and indicated a desire for governance changes within the program.
