French healthcare updates and international medical solidarity initiatives

In France, the Ministry of Health has set a deadline of October 1, 2026, for teleconsultation platforms to cease certain overcharging practices, specifically regarding “fast-track” options. However, the ministry continues to allow the charging of non-reimbursable “personalized follow-up” fees. Additionally, the CSMF (Collège des Syndicats de Médecine de Famille) is organizing events in La Baule from October 1 to 3, 2026, to present its Manifesto and White Paper, alongside discussions on the healthcare system and upcoming presidential elections.

In international solidarity news, the M'TOTO association, composed of medical students, is hosting an exhibition at the University of Nantes libraries from October 5 to November 13, 2026. The exhibition highlights the association's work in Fimela, Senegal, which includes extending a primary school in Djilor to include a library and teacher facilities. The association also conducts workshops on reproductive health, maternal and infant nutrition, and first aid in collaboration with local health actors.
