French heritage sites open for European Heritage Days

Various French organizations are opening unique sites to the public for the European Heritage Days.

In Nîmes, Ateliers de Nîmes is hosting exceptional visits to its weaving workshop. As the last facility in France specializing in denim weaving, the company aims to revive the city's historical connection to the fabric. Visitors can observe the looms and learn about the production stages and the history of Nîmes twill.

In the Pas-de-Calais region, Pas-de-Calais habitat will open four of its most emblematic social housing residences to the public on September 19, 2026. These sites offer a look at lived heritage, including buildings with architectural, industrial, or agricultural significance, such as the La Vicoigne residence, which formerly served as a nerve center for a mining company.
