French high-altitude ski resorts see strong demand and rising prices

The high-altitude ski resort market in the French Alps remains robust despite high prices. Demand is driven by reliable snowfall, exceptional services, and a loyal international clientele. In Courchevel 1850, luxury apartment prices exceed €55,000 per square meter, while renovated properties in other areas have seen price increases of 5% to 7%.

In the Trois Vallées domain, Méribel sees new property prices reaching approximately €35,000 per square meter. While the market for high-altitude stations continues to grow, popular destinations like Val Thorens face operational challenges due to extreme popularity. Val Thorens, Europe’s highest resort at 2,300 meters, attracts over 600,000 skiers annually, often leading to saturated ski lifts and crowded slopes during peak seasons.
