French Ligue 2 clubs assess preseason training ahead of England and domestic friendlies

Coaches Cris and Michael Ciani of the UNFP FC coaching staff reviewed two weeks of preseason work, noting individual player interviews, physical and tactical assessments and a focus on group cohesion. They highlighted a forthcoming friendly in England against a PFA‑organized squad, stressing playing time and collective comfort over the result.

Dijon FCO opened its preseason with a 4‑1 victory over a Côte‑d’Or departmental selection. Coach Baptiste Ridira criticised the first‑half efficiency but praised a stronger second half, with Domingues scoring twice and Ndezi adding a goal. The win was followed by a schedule of further training camps and matches, including a four‑day stint in Vichy and upcoming fixtures against Le Puy, UNFP, and a Luxembourg side.

Both clubs use these preparatory matches to evaluate new players, build tactical understanding and fine‑tune fitness before the competitive season begins.
