French martial arts clubs introduce self-defense training
Local martial arts clubs in France are expanding their offerings to include self-defense training in response to rising concerns regarding personal security.
In Moréac, karate instructor Anne Lioret is launching weekly self-defense sessions every Saturday. The program focuses on anticipation, environmental awareness, and conflict de-escalation rather than combat. Lioret noted a high demand for these skills, particularly among women and professionals in sectors such as retail, healthcare, and elderly care.
In Issoire, the Forme Défense 63 club is hosting an open house featuring self-defense, Kali Eskrima, and kickboxing. These complementary activities aim to improve physical conditioning and defensive capabilities for all skill levels and ages.
