French media landscape shifts ahead of 2027 elections

The French media landscape is undergoing several shifts ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Major personnel changes include Sonia Mabrouk joining BFMTV following her departure from CNews, and the potential withdrawal of Léa Salamé from France 2 if her partner, Raphaël Glucksmann, runs for office.

France Télévisions is preparing for political coverage with the return of ‘L’Heure de vérité’ in September. Meanwhile, TF1 aims to reduce political polarization on its platforms.

In summer programming, ‘Questions pour un champion’ on France 3 saw a decline in viewership due to competition from swimming championships. Other notable broadcasts include Frédéric Lopez’s ‘Un dimanche à la campagne’ on France 2, which returns with new episodes on August 30, and Laurent Delahousse’s program featuring Meryl Streep. France 5’s ‘Échappées belles’ is highlighting the Balearic Islands and the Italian Riviera.
