French motorways face maintenance closures in October

Several major highway maintenance operations are scheduled across France for the week of October 5 to October 9, 2026, affecting multiple motorways.

In the Toulon region, VINCI Autoroutes has announced nighttime closures on the A50 and A57 motorways. The Toulon tunnel will undergo a complete bi-directional closure on the night of Wednesday, October 7, from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Additionally, the A50 will be closed between the Châteauvallon and Brégaillon interchanges for two nights, and the Carnoules interchange on the A57 will be inaccessible for four consecutive nights between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.

In Lozère, the Montjézieu tunnel on the A75 motorway will also undergo preventive and curative maintenance. The work will be conducted in two phases: the west tube will be affected on October 5 and 6, followed by the east tube from October 7 to October 9. During these periods, traffic will be diverted to single-tube, two-way operations with speed limits reduced to 50 km/h. The Direction interdépartementale des routes Massif Central noted that work could be extended until October 10 in the event of bad weather or incidents.
