Firefighters in Var receive food donations amid ongoing blaze

A large wildfire in the Var department has prompted several communes to organise food collection drives to support the firefighters deployed on the ground. The municipalities of Le Val, Montfort‑sur‑Argens, Solliès‑Pont and Solliès‑Ville are calling for non‑perishable items such as fresh fruit, bread, pastries, canned meats, coffee, tea and juices. Donations can be dropped off at the municipal hall in Le Val on Tuesday, 4 August 2026 between 09:00‑12:30 and 14:00‑18:30, as well as at designated points in Montfort‑sur‑Argens. The supplies are intended to sustain the crews operating the command post that coordinates the response across Correns, Montfort‑sur‑Argens, Châteauvert and Le Val.
