French municipalities host inaugural meetings for newly elected officials

The Maison des Communes de la Vendée organized a day of discovery and exchange for newly elected local officials on 21 May 2026. Mayors, deputies, service directors and other municipal leaders were invited to visit stands representing seven structures, including the Centre de Gestion de la Fonction Publique Territoriale and the Association des Maires et Présidents de Communautés de Vendée, and to learn about the organisation’s services.

In Bouffémont, the municipal council was installed on 24 March 2026. Karine Okonski was elected mayor, and eight councilors were appointed as deputies covering urban planning, public safety, social affairs, early childhood, culture, finance, local commerce, and heritage. The council’s composition was confirmed in a formal session.
