French municipalities invest in new skatepark facilities
Municipalities in France are expanding urban sports infrastructure with the development of new skateparks.
In Orvault, a new skatepark has been inaugurated following the removal of a previous, dilapidated facility in 2023. The project, designed by Atelier 360, cost approximately 290,000 euros including studies. The 430 m² facility is intended to be a multi-use community space for skateboards, scooters, and rollers, featuring a design focused on noise reduction and accessibility.
Meanwhile, in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, construction is underway for a new skatepark featuring bowls, platforms, and modules. The project, managed by Vulcano Skateparks at a cost of 533,000 euros, is expected to be delivered by the end of November 2026. This follows the 2025 inauguration of a pumptrack in the same municipality, as part of a broader effort to enhance local leisure and sports offerings.
