French Museums Unveil Maritime Rescue and Titanic Immersive Exhibitions
The Musée Maritime de La Rochelle, in partnership with the Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM), is presenting the exhibition “Sauvetage en mer : entre héritage et innovation” from 23 June to 21 September 2026. The show traces the evolution of sea‑rescue stations in France, highlighting the bravery of volunteer rescuers and the professionalisation of maritime assistance.
In Lyon, the Musée Titanic at La Sucrière offers an immersive experience that recreates cabins, first‑class salons and the atmosphere of the famed ocean liner. Open since September 2025 and running until 12 July 2026, the exhibition features more than 300 artefacts and a virtual‑reality segment that lets visitors explore the wreck beneath the ocean.
