French musicians react to Patrick Bruel allegations

French singer Zazie and singer Maëlle have recently commented on the ongoing legal investigation and allegations involving singer Patrick Bruel, who faces approximately thirty complaints.

During a promotional interview, Zazie stated that while she has not personally witnessed any misconduct by Bruel, she believes the volume of accusations is significant, noting, “When there are 2, then 15, then 30 women, there is no smoke without fire.” She also expressed support for Bruel’s decision to withdraw from the stage to calm tensions.

Maëlle, who previously performed a duet with Bruel, expressed support for the women coming forward, stating she is glad that “all is being known and that these women are being heard.” Maëlle’s comments also served as a rebuttal to actress Mimie Mathy, who had previously defended Bruel by suggesting the public should decide his fate while the justice system proceeds.
