French National Assembly sees clash between LFI and government
A heated confrontation occurred in the French National Assembly during a government question session between Mathilde Panot, president of the La France insoumise (LFI) parliamentary group, and Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
Panot accused the Prime Minister of being ‘dangerous for democracy’ and suggested that the government relies on repression rather than effective governance. She also criticized the administration for failing to address injuries sustained by individuals during recent unrest.
Lecornu responded by questioning whether Panot condemned the arson of the Limoges town hall, noting that a suspect linked to the far-left had been arrested. He accused the LFI of pursuing a political agenda aimed at ‘installing violence and chaos in the country,’ stating that they belong in ‘the camp of shame.’
