French non-profit groups mobilize to defend associative funding

French non-profit organizations are mobilizing to defend the associative model following a national weekly newspaper's report on September 20, which characterized public funding for associations as money being ‘englouti’ (swallowed up).

Le Mouvement associatif and the Confédération Nationale des Radios Associatives (CNRA) have responded to these claims, arguing that the sector faces insufficient resources relative to public needs. They emphasize the vital role played by millions of volunteers and employees in serving the general interest.

The organizations are calling for continued mobilization to ensure the sustainability of the non-profit sector. They have scheduled a political meeting for October 8 to advocate for the associative model to become a central issue in the upcoming presidential debate and budgetary discussions.
