French organizations call for end to arms exports to Israel
A coalition of 56 French organizations, including unions, political parties, and solidarity groups, has called for a month of nationwide actions throughout October to demand an end to military exports and cooperation with Israel.
The organizers aim to increase public, union, and political pressure on the French government and defense companies. They argue that continued military exports conflict with France’s international obligations amidst the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Reports cited by the organizers indicate that French arms exports to Israel are valued at approximately 22.7 million dollars annually, excluding dual-use equipment, software, and related technologies. Documentation suggests that between October 2023 and March 2026, more than 525 shipments of military-related equipment were sent to Israeli defense and aerospace industries. These shipments reportedly included ammunition components, combat drone parts, night combat equipment, and components for armored vehicles and artillery. Many of these shipments utilized Charles de Gaulle Airport and various French ports and roads. While organizers claim these components support Israeli military operations, French authorities have stated that much of the equipment is defensive in nature or intended for re-export.
