French paraglider Rémi Bourdelle dies in Dolomites accident
French paragliding champion Rémi Bourdelle has died following an accident during the Dolomiti Superfly competition in Italy. The 34-year-old pilot, based in Chamonix, was participating in the annual international hike-and-fly race.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 7:10 p.m. near the Rombo Pass in the municipality of Moso in Passiria. After taking off from an altitude of 2,000 meters, Bourdelle’s paraglider struck a cable from a mechanical lift, resulting in a fall of approximately 60 meters.
