French politician Allan Brunon linked to hooded protesters in Grenoble

Allan Brunon, the deputy national secretary of the La France Insoumise (LFI) party, has faced intense political backlash following the release of a video showing him posing with hooded protesters in Grenoble. The footage depicts Brunon smiling alongside individuals with covered faces and Palestinian flags shortly before a bank branch was attacked.

Moments after the images were captured, rioters targeted a Crédit Agricole branch, destroying windows and looting the premises. While there is no public evidence that Brunon directly participated in the vandalism, opposition leaders from the center and right have accused the LFI of complicity with radical groups and have called for judicial investigations into potential incitement or concealment.

Political figures, including Clément Chappet, have demanded accountability and disciplinary sanctions from LFI leadership, headed by Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The incident has heightened political polarization in France, intensifying debates regarding the boundaries of political protest and the use of international causes during street demonstrations.
