French President’s Office Keeps Close Contact with Lyhanna’s Family

On 4 June, after the death of 11‑year‑old Lyhanna in the town of Fleurance, the presidential chief of staff Laurent Carrié began daily contact with the mayor and coordinated with President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, who spoke by phone with the girl’s parents.

The Élysée has provided discreet assistance, including a low‑profile visit by Carrié to Fleurance and plans to attend the funeral, while avoiding a public intervention before the upcoming G7 summit, stating the president will not comment until the judicial investigations conclude.
