French prodigy Paul Seixas earns modest salary for Tour de France debut

Nineteen‑year‑old French rider Paul Seixas started the 2026 Tour de France, becoming the youngest French participant since 1937. His annual earnings are estimated between €150,000 and €350,000, far below the €8 million earned by star Tadej Pogačar and well under the WorldTour average of about €538,000.

Seixas finished 10th on the opening stage from Barcelona, staying within 39 seconds of the leaders. French cycling commentator Marion Rousse praised his performance, calling him “incredible” and “the successor to Bernard Hinault.”
