French regional destinations highlight diverse landscapes and heritage

France offers diverse regional tourism experiences, ranging from the cliffside architecture of the Vercors to the coastal landscapes of the Camargue and the historic charm of Provence.

In the Isère region, the village of Pont-en-Royans is noted for its medieval houses built directly into the cliffs above the Bourne gorges. Located approximately 50 kilometers from Grenoble, the village features colorful facades and the Musée de l’Eau.

The Camargue region, specifically around Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, provides a natural setting of marshes and lagoons. Upcoming cultural events in the area include the Fête du Cheval on September 27, 2026, and the votive festival in Aigues-Mortes from October 3 to 18, 2026.

In Provence, the village of Gordes is highlighted for its stone architecture and panoramic views of the Luberon. The commune features historical landmarks such as a castle, a church, and ancient ramparts.
