French sports: Boulazac Basket and ES Besançon prepare for new seasons
Boulazac Basket Dordogne has announced its rosters for the Espoirs and U18 categories for the upcoming season. The Espoirs team, designed to prepare players aged 18 to 21 for professional basketball, will be coached by Kévin Poinsot. The squad features returning players such as Hugo Lasalvary, Corentin Pages, Charles-Alexandre Mpome, Evan Teukam Tamo, Bastien Courant, and Albin Boitrel, alongside new recruits including Ismaël Garcin-Cisse from England, Nathan Hypolite from Nanterre, and Pierre-Louis Prely from Chalon-sur-Saône.
In women's handball, ES Besançon is aiming to return to European competition following a disappointing previous season. After finishing eighth in the Ligue Butagaz Énergie, the club missed out on European qualification by two spots. While the team showed strength at home in the Palais des Sports, struggles in away matches hindered their progress. The club, known for its high-quality training academy, seeks to rebuild its standing in the league.
