French State sued over alleged inaction in Epstein investigation

The French State has been twice summoned before the Paris Judicial Court for alleged ‘gross negligence’ regarding the French component of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The legal action is being led by former Swedish model Ebba Karlsson and the association Innocence en danger, representing potential victims of the American financier.

The plaintiffs allege that the French justice system failed to act effectively. Specifically, they cite the lack of police custody or interrogation of Daniel Siad, a suspected recruiter for Epstein, before his death in July at his home in Colombes. Karlsson, who filed a complaint earlier this year accusing Siad of rape in France during the 1990s, claims that the opportunity to interview him was missed for months.

Lawyers representing Karlsson are seeking a court ruling to recognize a ‘malfunction of the public justice service’ and are requesting 50,000 euros in damages for the prejudice suffered. An initial hearing is scheduled for 2027.
