French Summer Festivals Mark 10th Anniversaries in Angoulême and Seyne
In July and August 2026, two French festivals celebrated their tenth editions. In Angoulême, the city’s summer event Les Beaux Jours offered free capoeira workshops on the Île de Bourgine, where participants learned the Brazilian martial art’s movements, music and instruments such as the berimbau. The sessions, run by the association Expressao Capoeira Charente, were open to all ages and ran each Monday until mid‑August.
Meanwhile, the Festival du Chapeau staged its tenth edition at Fort Balaguier in Seyne. The week‑long programme featured a different play each night, ranging from comedy and thriller to socially charged works, and concluded with a musical interlude by singer Sonia Piazza. Entrance was €8, free for children under 12, and tickets were sold at the venue without advance reservation.
