French theaters L’Éclat and Le Périscope announce new seasons

French theaters L’Éclat in Pont-Audemer and Le Périscope in Nîmes have announced their upcoming 2026-2027 seasons, emphasizing multidisciplinary programming and community engagement.

L’Éclat, directed by Étienne Legendre, will host 55 spectacles across 98 performances. The season features a diverse lineup including artists such as Médine and Charlie Winston. The theater aims to become a more open space, redesigning its hall to allow for work and reading, and opening school sessions to the general public. Notable events include the Igloo Festival in January 2027 and Le Noob, a digital arts showcase in April 2027.

Le Périscope, under the direction of Antonin Beaury, is focusing on its role as a multidisciplinary urban itinerant stage and a creator of living arts. Based in the Gambetta-Richelieu district of Nîmes, the theater's project emphasizes contemporary creation, puppet arts, and territorial cooperation through 2029. Despite a difficult economic and institutional context for the culture sector, the theater remains committed to providing cultural access to all residents.
