French Top 14 clubs secure key player contract extensions

Several French Top 14 rugby clubs are securing key players through long-term contract extensions.

Union Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB) has successfully locked in multiple core players. International winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey has extended his stay until 2029, while 21-year-old international number eight Marko Gazzotti has also committed to the club until 2029, notably turning down interest from Stade Toulousain. Additionally, Pierre Bochaton has signed an extension through 2030.

At Clermont, third-line player Anthime Hemery has extended his contract until June 2029, citing his attachment to the club and the region. Meanwhile, Montpellier Hérault Rugby (MHR) is nearing an official agreement with international third-line Alexandre Bécognée, who is expected to sign a three-year extension to remain with the club through 2030.
