French tourism trends show growth in off-season travel
Travel trends in France are showing a shift toward off-season tourism. Commercial data indicates growth in non-summer periods, with April seeing a 30% increase in travelers compared to the previous year. October has also seen a 45% rise in reservations, largely driven by families, who represent 62% of bookings during that month.
Specifically, motorhome tourism is experiencing significant growth in the Hauts-de-France region. According to data from the Camping-Car Park network, overnight stays in the region rose by 48.8% in September 2026 compared to the previous year. The Pas-de-Calais department, particularly Calais, saw a 27.9% increase in motorhome stays during the same period. This trend highlights a growing attractiveness for northern and western coastal areas during the period following the traditional high summer season.
