On Saturday, 1 August 2026, the Calais town hall hosted seven couples who exchanged vows in the municipal marriage hall. Among them were Guillaume Rousseeu and Madison Foratier, Benjamin Jonghes and Hélène Bernard‑Vereecque, and five other local pairs, each surrounded by family and witnesses.

In the Côte‑d'Or region, the Dijon town hall and nearby venues also saw a series of ceremonies. Deputy mayor Stéphane Chevalier officiated several unions, including Tahra Hammani with Hadi Alabsi, Bothaina Ezzi with Omar Saimouaa, and other couples from various professions. Additional weddings were celebrated in Chevigny‑Saint‑Sauveur and Lacour‑d’Arcenay, highlighting a busy first weekend of August for French civil ceremonies.
