French towns host youth volunteer projects for teenagers

From 1 to 22 August, a group of fourteen to fifteen teenagers aged 13‑17 from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the Netherlands worked on the restoration of the historic Ham Castle in Picardy. Supervised by Fabien Hercheux, they carried out masonry on the ramparts, garden maintenance and other repairs, while also taking part in weekend excursions to nearby heritage sites.

Between 6 July and 14 August, twenty‑six local adolescents aged 14‑17 participated in the 11th edition of the "chantiers jeunes" in Vittel. Working in rotating groups of four to five, they performed municipal tasks such as cemetery upkeep, completing about 20 hours of work each week. Upon finishing, each volunteer receives a €150 voucher as a reward for their contribution.
