French towns impose road closures for gas pipe repair and road works
In the commune of Lespinasse, an anomaly detected on a gas pipe under the Route de la Plage bridge on 24 July prompted emergency works. Municipal police and technical services secured the site, closed the bridge and set up detours. The bridge now operates with alternating traffic until 7 August, with full‑time repairs continuing along the line to the Artemis‑owned silos until 25 September.
Meanwhile, in Pont‑Hébert in the Manche department, the main departmental road RD‑974 (Voie de la Liberté) was closed to traffic from 27 July to 31 July 2026 after resurfacing work revealed defects. A detour was established on both sides of the town to maintain safety and limit disruption for residents and local businesses.
