French towns inaugurate new community sports and play facilities

Several French municipalities have inaugurated new community and sports facilities. In Chauvigny, a new double 3x3 basketball court was opened at the Centre d’animation populaire. The facility, which supports both school activities and free public use, was named in honor of André Dupin, a long-time volunteer for the local USC Basket club who passed away in 2025. The project was funded by the Agence nationale du sport, the Vienne Departmental Council, and the city.

In Louviers, the Acacias neighborhood celebrated the inauguration of a new recreational area. The project, which was planned over a decade, includes a city stadium, an athletics track, a children's garden, a nursery, trampolines, and a picnic area with a pergola. Mayor François-Xavier Priollaud noted that the development was designed to meet the long-term needs of local residents and provide a space for community conviviality.
