French visa refusal overturned following administrative appeal
A Tunisian national has successfully overturned a French long-stay visa refusal following an appeal to the Commission for Appeals against Decisions to Refuse Entry Visas to France (CRRV) in Nantes.
The applicant had originally sought a ‘visitor’ status long-stay visa (Type D) through the French consulate in Tunis, but the request was rejected. According to attorney Fayçal Megherbi, such refusals are often based on standardized or insufficiently documented assessments regarding the applicant's financial resources or guarantees of return.
Following a mandatory preliminary appeal to the CRRV, the sub-director of visas determined that the initial consular decision could not be maintained. The administration has since reversed its position, and the French consulate in Tunis is expected to contact the applicant to issue the requested visa.
