Brest: Mother and daughter struck in hit-and-run accident

A mother and daughter were struck by a vehicle on Avenue Le Gorgeu in the Bellevue district of Brest on Saturday evening, September 26, 2026.

A witness reported that the driver exited the vehicle following the collision before restarting the car and fleeing the scene without checking on the victims. The mother was reported to be lying on the ground and appeared unresponsive, while her daughter was left in shock.

Both victims were transported to a hospital. While the mother is reported to be out of danger and was able to be discharged over the weekend, the child remains significantly traumatized. Local police are actively searching for the driver and have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
