Salcedo and Santo Domingo Oeste face planned social protests
The Frente Amplio de Lucha Popular (FALPO) has ratified a call for a 24-hour strike in Salcedo, scheduled for Monday, to demand social and infrastructural improvements. Key demands include the completion of the Palmarito-Salcedo-Cruce de Maguey highway, the construction of a bridge connecting Salcedo to Las Caobas, and the repair of several road segments. Additionally, the group is calling for street paving in popular sectors, the completion of stalled educational facility repairs, and improvements to the sanitary sewage system in Tenares.
In a separate mobilization, the Frente Amplio has organized a protest march in Santo Domingo Oeste. This demonstration aims to pressure the government to address the rising cost of living, specifically regarding food and medicine prices, as well as frequent power outages that affect household budgets.
