Frente Amplio holds organizational activities for Day of the Base Committee

Members and leaders of the Frente Amplio political party in Uruguay held various activities to mark the Day of the Base Committee. These gatherings focused on territorial organization and preparation for the upcoming VIII Ordinary Congress, titled “Compañero José ‘Pepe’ Mujica”.

In Minas, Lavalleja, officials including Mayor Daniel Ximénez and President of the Departmental Board Mauro Alvarez met with local militants at the Godofredo Fernandes committee. The meeting resulted in the election of new committee authorities, including Mario Perdomo as president and Roberto Díaz as treasurer.

Additionally, Deputy and economist Bruno Giometti participated in committee meetings to discuss the party's political direction and the recently approved Rendición de Cuentas. Giometti emphasized the importance of the base committees as a foundational structure and highlighted that the approved accountability measures include approximately $31 million in additional resources for 2027 to address structural inequalities.
