Peronist leaders in Argentina organize for 2027 elections

Peronist leaders in Argentina are organizing for the 2027 electoral cycle. In the Fourth Electoral Section of Buenos Aires, the Frente Renovador held a major summit in Junín, gathering over 150 leaders, including mayors and legislators. The group identified Sergio Massa as their “natural candidate” for the upcoming elections and emphasized the need to address the economic crisis affecting local municipalities.

Simultaneously, supporters of Governor Axel Kicillof held a plenary in Saladillo to express backing for his leadership and potential presidential aspirations. In Federal, a new coalition called the Frente de Unidad Justicialista was formed, uniting six political groups to reorganize local Peronism.

Across these movements, leaders expressed concern over the national economic situation under President Javier Milei, citing increased family debt and declining consumption. The various factions are focused on building territorial strength and political unity to present an alternative in future elections.
