Frequency Festival brings 40,000 people to St. Pölten

The FM4 Frequency Festival in St. Pölten has brought approximately 40,000 attendees to the city, creating significant logistical demands for local infrastructure, security, and services. While the event provides an economic boost through increased hotel occupancy and local business activity, it requires intensive coordination between organizers and municipal authorities to manage crowds and transport.

Following weather-related cancellations of several performances on Friday evening, including shows by Tom Odell and Sub Focus, the festival continued on Saturday. Authorities reported a relatively calm atmosphere despite the disruptions. The Red Cross treated 841 individuals for minor issues such as nausea, insect bites, and small injuries, with 52 people requiring hospital transport, most for outpatient care.

Police recorded two cases of sexual harassment and five instances of bodily harm, along with several thefts from camping tents. The St. Pölten city police commander described the overall situation as quiet given the scale of the event.
