Fresenius completes full acquisition of mAbxience

Fresenius has completed the full acquisition of mAbxience, a biosimilar developer, by purchasing the remaining 45 percent stake from Insud Pharma and Invim Corporativo. The transaction, signed and finalized on September 30, 2026, involves a total payment of up to 750 million euros in cash. Of this amount, 50 million euros is contingent upon the successful regulatory approval of specific production facilities.

Through this acquisition, Fresenius will fully integrate mAbxience into its Fresenius Kabi biopharma business, controlling the entire biosimilar value chain from development and production to marketing. mAbxience operates three production sites in Spain and Latin America and employs over 1,300 people. In 2025, the company reported revenues exceeding 320 million euros.

The company currently has four products on the market and eight additional candidates in clinical development. Fresenius intends to finance the deal using existing liquidity and operating cash flow, noting that no additional financing is required. The move is intended to strengthen its vertically integrated business model in a biosimilar market projected to grow to over 180 billion euros by 2035.
