Fresia to host second Funga Salvaje Festival

The second edition of the Funga Salvaje Festival will take place in Fresia on October 2, 3, and 4. Organized by the Fresia Environmental Committee in collaboration with the Municipality of Fresia and Liceo Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, the event focuses on mushrooms, forests, and environmental education.

The festival aims to promote the appreciation of the fungi kingdom through a combination of science, art, culture, and gastronomy. The program includes workshops, talks, artistic displays, music, and an entrepreneurship fair, with specific activities designed for students and direct forest experiences.

Natalia Zambrano, president of the Fresia Environmental Committee, stated that the initiative seeks to awaken curiosity about local biodiversity, noting that “we cannot protect what we do not know.” The event begins on October 2 with the Ciclo Funga Escolar, a session dedicated to pre-invited audiences.
