Fresno police arrest suspect over planned high school mass stabbing
Fresno police have arrested a minor following a thwarted mass stabbing plot at Duncan Polytechnical High School. The threat was allegedly scheduled to take place on September 11.
The investigation began after a student sent a warning message to peers via social media, stating, “There is going to be a mass stabbing at Duncan High School on September 11th, this is not a joke, or a hoax.” The message, which claimed the suspect intended to attack because he “doesn’t like people,” was eventually shared with a parent and reported to authorities.
The Fresno Police Department and a school resource officer identified the individual involved. The Fresno Unified School District noted the incident originated from a social media chat. The juvenile suspect has been booked into custody and will face disciplinary action.
