Fressnapf Group expands retail footprint in France and Germany

The Fressnapf Group is expanding its retail footprint through both international milestones and new domestic formats. The company is set to reach its 3,000th store milestone with a new opening in France. This location will also mark the 500th Maxi Zoo site in the country. While the specific city has not been officially confirmed, the company has hinted at a location near Paris that hosted Olympic competitions in 2024.

In Germany, the retailer has launched its first ‘Fressnapf City’ concept in Munich-Schwabing. This 115-square-meter small-format store is designed for dense urban areas, focusing on a curated selection of products combined with digital services like Click & Collect. This move is part of a broader omnichannel strategy to integrate physical stores with online shopping capabilities.

As of the first quarter of 2026, the group operated 2,919 locations across 15 countries. The company aims to open more than 150 new stores annually.
