Freudis Rojas to challenge Kevin Anton for WBC title

Freudis “Freddy” Rojas will face Kevin Anton in a 10-round main event for the WBC Continental Americas junior-middleweight title on Friday, October 16. The bout, part of ProBoxTV’s “Championship Series,” will take place at the Rawhide Western Town & Event Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Rojas stepped in as a late replacement for Yan Marcos, who was sidelined by a training injury. The matchup features two southpaw fighters: Anton, an undefeated 14-0 fighter from Palmdale, California, and Rojas, who holds a 15-1 record.

Anton enters the fight with a high knockout rate of 86 percent. Rojas, a former 2017 World Championships bronze medalist, seeks to recover from a recent unanimous decision loss to Damian Sosa in April.
