FRI-EL Group CEO visits Pakistan for aviation partnership talks

Josef Gostner, Vice Chairman and CEO of Italy’s FRI-EL Group, has arrived in Pakistan to engage in high-level discussions with South Air (Pvt.) Limited. The visit aims to explore a strategic partnership and long-term cooperation within Pakistan’s regional aviation sector.

The discussions between FRI-EL, South Air, and SOS Group are expected to cover several areas of potential collaboration, including investment, fleet development, aircraft acquisition, technical and operational cooperation, and route development. The parties will also examine how the European regional aviation model utilized by SkyAlps—an airline under the FRI-EL umbrella—could be applied to South Air’s expansion plans.

South Air is focused on improving connectivity between Pakistan’s major commercial centers and underserved regions to support economic activity, tourism, and business mobility. The airline is currently working to expand its fleet and network to reach additional destinations across the country.
