Friða Saiya wins P3's Næste award at P3 Guld

Musician Friða Saiya has won the ‘P3's Næste’ award at the annual P3 Guld awards, recognizing her as a major rising star in the Danish music scene. The award, formerly known as ‘KarriereKanonen’, was presented to her by musician Oh Land.

The jury praised Saiya for her organic pop, strong melodies, and profound musical understanding, stating that it “sounds as if Friða Saiya eats music for breakfast.” Her work is noted for its poetic lyrics and a distinct “Nordic melancholy” that defines her musical universe.

Saiya, who is of Faroese descent and grew up in Copenhagen, released her album ‘[fryi ‘sai, som udkom i år]’ earlier this year. Her upcoming performances include a major concert at DR Studie 3 on November 20.
