Fribourg-Gottéron defeats HC Davos in penalty shootout

Fribourg-Gottéron defeated HC Davos 2-1 in a penalty shootout, mirroring the intensity of last season’s playoff final. The match remained tied at 1-1 after regulation and overtime.

Jan Dorthe opened the scoring for Fribourg-Gottéron during a power play in the first period, but Brendan Lemieux equalized for Davos shortly after. Despite Davos controlling much of the game with a significant shot advantage of 45 to 30, Fribourg-Gottéron goalkeeper Ludovic Waeber made several key saves to keep his team in contention.

Samuel Walser secured the victory for Fribourg-Gottéron by scoring the tenth penalty in the shootout. This win marks the first away victory of the season for Fribourg-Gottéron, while HC Davos suffers its third consecutive loss.
