Fribourg-Gottéron enters new era following historic championship

Fribourg-Gotterón head coach Roger Rönnberg has signaled a shift toward a new era for the club following their historic first championship. Speaking at the club’s media day, Rönnberg emphasized that the team is focused on long-term success and future titles rather than dwelling on past achievements.

Club leadership, including newly appointed president Yvan Haymoz, stressed the importance of consolidating the foundation built by the team. Sporting director Gerd Zenhäusern noted that the team faced a shortened offseason due to their championship run, requiring careful management of player recovery and preparation.

The team is preparing for upcoming challenges in both the Champions Hockey League and the domestic championship, with Rönnberg stating the goal is to move from being good to being excellent through daily discipline.
