Fribourg mandates organized travel for SC Bern fans

Authorities have implemented strict travel mandates for SC Bern fans attending the ice hockey match against Fribourg-Gottéron on September 29, 2026, at the BCF-Arena. This decision follows incidents of violence involving fans during the previous season, particularly during travel on regular train services.

To prevent a recurrence, the Saane District Office, in coordination with the Sense District Office, the Fribourg Cantonal Police, the National League, and both clubs, has mandated that fans in the guest sector must use organized transportation. Entry to the guest sector is strictly tied to the purchase of a combined ticket that includes travel via a special bus or extra train.

As of now, specific transport arrangements have not yet been finalized, though the club retains the opportunity to organize measures before the match. Authorities have emphasized that these requirements are non-negotiable; access to the stadium will be denied to any Bernese fans who do not use the organized transport. The Fribourg Cantonal Police will monitor the situation closely to ensure public order and compliance.
